The US Bankruptycy Courts is in the federal district courts of many jurisdictions to serve its citizens within that locale. It is the arm of the Judicial branch of government designed to offer protection for every United States citizen from creditors - once you file a petition. The petitions and fees are the same throughout the entire country.

Several years ago when I looked into bankruptcy- I called around to several law firms and attorneys and was shocked to learn it would cost anywhere from $1200 -over $2k to file and did not include the filing fee. I put the idea on the shelf and told myself that I would save the money and one day be able to afford it. That day did not come soon enough.
I immersed myself in the bankruptcy process and prepared my own petition- working on it day after day. There was so much to understand and do. I endured and finally it was complete and filed without any errors. I eventually offered my new found skill to help family and friends who were stressed out and felt hopeless due to overwhelming credit and bills.
I have been preparing bankruptcy petitions ever since. I stay abreast of the new forms.
I also was represented myself (Pro Se) in a personal civil matter and after many appearances in court, I was awarded everything I asked the court for. The judge commended me for my successful efforts.
I went to school for legal studies, graduated and today, I am a Certified Paralegal.
